FLARE Partnered with MRP Realty and Allen Chapel Food Pantry’s Victory Meals Program to Feed Hospital Staff on Front Lines of COVID-19 Response

ARLINGTON, VA (June 26, 2020) – FLARE, an electric micro mobility carrier service, has partnered with MRP Realty and Allen Chapel Food Pantry’s Victory Meals, to deliver meals from local DC restaurants to staff at United Medical Center in Washington, DC, who are working on the front lines of the COVID-19 response.

“We are excited to help those who are working so tirelessly to help COVID-19 patients. This new partnership with Victory Meals – our first in the District – is another highlight in our recent efforts to assist those in our community who need food by providing a much-needed delivery service. We are grateful to those hospital workers who are caring for patients with COVID-19, and are eager to play a part in serving them,” said FLARE CEO Andres Delgado.

Since the quarantine began, FLARE has shifted gears to pick up and deliver food donations instead of passengers through several different partnerships. “We have adapted our service in order to best serve the community around us. This is a time for businesses and the community members to work together,” Delgado said.

FLARE kicked off the program on Wednesday, June 17, by delivering food from Bourbon Coffee to United Medical Center. Additional details about the program can be found at www.VictoryMeals.org.
“We are so excited to be partnering with FLARE to help facilitate our meal deliveries. MRP has been moved to help those members of the DC community most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and we look forward to the potential to expand and adapt the Victory Meals program by working with the team at FLARE,” said Christa Zeladonis, Experience Manager, MRP Realty.

FLARE is working with the Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization to deliver lunch for Virginia Hospital Center staff every Tuesday and Friday.

FLARE has partnered with the Ballston Business Improvement District to collect and deliver food donations from five locations in Ballston for the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) every Friday.

FLARE, in partnership with the Crystal City Civic Association and Crystal City Business Improvement District, is currently collecting and transporting food donations for AFAC in 10 apartment buildings in Crystal City.

In March, FLARE partnered with the Aurora Heights Civic Association, and delivered over 800 lbs. of food for the Arlington Food Assistance Center.
