New Program Seeks to Support Local Arlington Businesses, Essential Workers
“We welcome local restaurants and essential personnel to enroll in our program so that we can match them together,” Delgado said. “FLARE will serve as the intermediary and make the food deliveries.”

Since the quarantine began, FLARE has shifted gears to pick up and delivery of food donations instead of passengers. “We are working to adapt our service in order to best serve the community around us. This is a time for businesses and the community members to work together,” Delgado said.
FLARE is working with the Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization to deliver lunch for Virginia Hospital Center staff every Tuesday and Friday.
FLARE has partnered with the Ballston Business Improvement District to collect and deliver food donations from five locations in Ballston for the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) every Friday.
FLARE, in partnership with the Crystal City Civic Association and Crystal City Business Improvement District, is currently collecting and transporting food donations for AFAC in 10 apartment buildings in Crystal City.
